Description
The Four Stripe Damsel is a bold and hardy marine fish that features four striking black vertical bands on a white body. Known for its tough nature and adaptability, it is a great option for beginner aquarists looking to add a visually striking fish to their tank.
However, this species is known to be quite aggressive, especially in smaller tanks or when kept with more passive tank mates. A larger tank with plenty of hiding spaces helps mitigate some of this aggression. As omnivores, Four Stripe Damsels thrive on a diet of flakes, pellets, and frozen foods, making them easy to care for.
While they can be territorial, they are reef-compatible, which makes them a common addition to reef tanks for their contrasting coloration and resilient nature. Their active behavior and tough demeanor make them an engaging presence in saltwater aquariums.
