Description
The Banana or Sunset Wrasse is a stunning fish with vibrant color patterns, ranging from yellow to green with striking red and orange markings, especially evident in males. Known for their active and inquisitive behavior, they add dynamic movement to a saltwater aquarium.
This species is semi-aggressive and is best kept with other fish of similar size and temperament. As a carnivore, it thrives on a diet of meaty foods like mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and chopped seafood. While it can be housed in reef tanks, caution is advised as it may prey on small invertebrates such as shrimp and crabs. The wrasse requires ample swimming space, as well as rock structures for hiding and resting at night.
