Description
The Beaded Anemone, also known as the Zebra Mat Anemone, is a distinctive anemone species with unique beaded tentacles that give it a textured appearance. Typically colored in shades of tan, brown, and green, it brings an interesting aesthetic to a reef tank. This anemone is moderately challenging to care for and is best suited for aquarists with some experience, as it requires stable water conditions and specific care to thrive.
This species is semi-aggressive and can sting neighboring corals or invertebrates, so it should be placed in an area with adequate space. The Beaded Anemone can move around the tank until it finds a spot with its preferred conditions of moderate lighting and low to moderate water flow.
As a carnivorous feeder, the Beaded Anemone enjoys small meaty foods such as brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and finely chopped marine foods, which should be fed several times per week. This species is relatively hardy but benefits from a mature aquarium with consistent water quality, as fluctuations can impact its health and coloration.
