Description
The Bicolor Angelfish (Tonga) is a vibrant species known for its unique color split, with a bright yellow front and a deep blue back. This fish is native to the reef regions around Tonga and is highly sought after for its beauty and hardiness. It thrives in tanks that provide ample hiding spots among live rock and plenty of space for swimming.
An omnivorous species, the Bicolor Angelfish feeds on both algae and small invertebrates in the wild. In the aquarium, a balanced diet of marine algae, spirulina, mysis shrimp, and other high-quality foods will support its health and vibrant coloration. While this angelfish can do well in reef setups, it may occasionally nip at soft corals, clam mantles, or polyps, so it should be considered reef-compatible with caution.
The Bicolor Angelfish can be semi-aggressive, especially with similar-sized or similarly shaped fish. It’s best kept singly or with peaceful tankmates in a well-sized aquarium.
