Description
The Bicolor Angelfish (Fiji), also known as the Pacific Rock Beauty or Oriole Angelfish, is known for its striking coloration, with a bright yellow front half and a deep blue rear half. This contrast makes it a popular choice among marine aquarists. Native to the reefs around Fiji, this species prefers an aquarium with ample rockwork and hiding spots, as well as open swimming space.
The Bicolor Angelfish is an omnivore and will graze on algae and other plant matter, along with small invertebrates. In the home aquarium, it should be fed a varied diet that includes marine algae, spirulina, mysis shrimp, and other meaty foods. While generally reef-safe, it may nip at some types of soft corals, clams, or polyps, so it’s recommended with caution in reef setups.
This angelfish can exhibit semi-aggressive behavior, particularly towards other angelfish or fish of similar shape. It is best housed singly or with other peaceful tankmates in a suitably sized system.
