Description
The Blue Jaw Trigger (Female), known for its subtle beauty, exhibits a lovely blue-gray body adorned with light blue spots and a slightly translucent look, setting it apart from its male counterpart. It is an ideal choice for those looking to add a unique, yet peaceful triggerfish to their aquarium.
While generally calm for a trigger, the Blue Jaw Trigger may show occasional aggression towards smaller tank mates, especially in smaller aquariums. It is best suited to large tanks with plenty of swimming space and secure hiding spots. This species does well in fish-only tanks or carefully selected reef systems, as it may nip at certain invertebrates.
In the wild, the Blue Jaw Trigger thrives on a diet of crustaceans and smaller fish, and it readily accepts meaty foods such as shrimp, squid, and other marine fare in captivity. Given its carnivorous diet, feeding it a varied selection of high-quality meaty foods will ensure optimal health and coloration. A tank size of at least 125 gallons is recommended to comfortably house this active swimmer.
