The Blue Margin Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus cf. joanallenae) is a stunning and peaceful species known for its vibrant coloration and active swimming habits. Males typically showcase a more vivid array of colors, with shades of red, orange, and blue, while females tend to have softer hues. When kept in pairs, the wrasses display fascinating behaviors that make them a delight to observe in a home aquarium.

Native to the Indo-Pacific region, the Blue Margin Fairy Wrasse is a peaceful species that thrives in community tanks, especially in reef environments where its active swimming patterns and coloration provide a beautiful display. It is reef-safe and will not bother corals or invertebrates, making it a great choice for both reef and fish-only setups.

As carnivores, Blue Margin Fairy Wrasses feed on a variety of small meaty foods, such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other high-quality frozen or prepared foods. Providing a varied diet will ensure they remain healthy and maintain their vibrant colors.

Due to their active nature, a tank of at least 75 gallons is recommended to give these fish plenty of swimming space. They also appreciate tanks with plenty of hiding spots and rock formations where they can seek refuge when necessary. The Blue Margin Fairy Wrasse is a moderately hardy species, making it a suitable choice for aquarists with some experience in maintaining marine tanks.

When kept in pairs or harems, these wrasses display interesting social behaviors and may even engage in courtship displays, adding to their appeal in a peaceful community setup.
