Description
The Blue Star Linckia is a stunning addition to any reef aquarium with its vibrant blue coloration. It is a peaceful species that is safe for reef tanks, as it primarily feeds on biofilm, algae, and detritus, leaving coral and other invertebrates unharmed. While these starfish are beautiful, they can be somewhat sensitive to water quality and fluctuations in parameters. They do best in well-established, large aquariums with stable conditions. It’s essential to acclimate them slowly to avoid shock, and they may take some time to adjust to their new environment. They can also climb over live rock and glass, adding an element of activity to the aquarium. Supplemental feeding may be required if the natural food supply is not sufficient. Offer small pieces of meaty foods, such as shrimp, or prepared starfish foods if necessary. Approximate Purchase Size: 3″ to 6″
