Description
The Camel Shrimp (Rhynchocinetes durbanensis), also known as the Dancing Shrimp, is a striking addition to any aquarium due to its bright red and white color pattern. While its appearance is appealing, it is not reef safe, as it may nip at soft corals, polyps, and other invertebrates. This shrimp is best suited for fish-only tanks or invertebrate tanks that do not contain corals. It is an active species and can often be seen scavenging for food, eating algae, and cleaning up leftover fish food. Camel Shrimp are relatively easy to care for, but they can be semi-aggressive, especially towards other shrimps. Their diet consists of meaty foods, including brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Approximate Purchase Size: 1.5″ to 2″
