Description
The Candy Cane Pistol Shrimp (Alpheus randalli), also known as the Randall’s Pistol Shrimp, is a vibrant and colorful addition to reef tanks. It is recognized for its red and white candy cane-striped body and peaceful behavior. This shrimp is well-known for forming symbiotic relationships with certain species of gobies, such as the watchman goby, where the shrimp provides protection, and the goby acts as a lookout. The Candy Cane Pistol Shrimp is reef compatible and poses no threat to corals or other invertebrates. Its diet primarily consists of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. They are easy to care for but thrive best in tanks with plenty of sand for burrowing. This shrimp is small in size but plays a big role in cleaning up debris and keeping the tank environment healthy. Approximate Purchase Size: 1″ to 2″
