Description
Fisher’s Angel (Centropyge fisheri), also known as the Fisher’s Dwarf Angel, is a striking marine fish celebrated for its vibrant colors and engaging personality. This species features a bright blue body adorned with vivid yellow and black markings, making it a visually stunning addition to any reef aquarium.
Native to the coral reefs of the Western Pacific, Fisher’s Angel prefers environments rich in coral and rocky structures where it can find shelter and grazing opportunities. This species is semi-aggressive and can display territorial behavior, particularly towards other dwarf angelfish or similar-sized fish, so it’s best suited for larger community tanks.
In terms of diet, Fisher’s Angel is an omnivore that thrives on a varied diet. It enjoys high-quality flake foods, algae, and frozen or live foods such as brine shrimp and mysis shrimp. Regular feeding is essential for maintaining its health and enhancing its vibrant colors.
While Fisher’s Angel is considered reef compatible, caution should be exercised as it may nip at soft corals or small invertebrates if stressed or underfed. A minimum tank size of 70 gallons is recommended to provide ample swimming space and hiding spots.
