The Flame Anthias (Pseudanthias ignitus), also known as the Flame Fairy Anthias, is a stunning marine fish admired for its vibrant colors and graceful swimming. This species features a bright yellow body that transitions into fiery orange and red on the dorsal fin and tail, making it a beautiful addition to any reef or marine aquarium.

Native to the coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific, the Flame Anthias thrives in well-established aquariums with ample live rock and moderate water flow. It is a peaceful fish that does well in community tanks, especially in small groups, where a male and several females can create a natural social structure.

The Flame Anthias is a carnivore and requires a varied diet for optimal health. It thrives on a diet of high-quality frozen foods, such as brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Offering several small feedings throughout the day will help meet its dietary needs and maintain its vibrant coloration.

As a reef-compatible species, the Flame Anthias poses no threat to corals or invertebrates, making it a suitable choice for reef tanks. A minimum tank size of 70 gallons is recommended to provide sufficient swimming space, as this species is active and requires room to explore.
