Description
The Flaming Prawn Goby (Discordipinna griessingeri) is a vibrant and unique addition to nano reef aquariums. Known for its small size and flamboyant colors, this tiny goby displays an array of red, white, and orange hues with delicate, fan-like fins. The Flaming Prawn Goby is named for its prawn-like swimming style, which adds an enchanting movement to the tank.
Due to its small size and peaceful temperament, the Flaming Prawn Goby is best suited for a nano tank or a peaceful community aquarium where it won’t be outcompeted for food. It often hides in crevices and will appreciate plenty of live rock and sand for shelter and burrowing.
This goby is a carnivore and should be offered a varied diet that includes finely chopped meaty foods like mysis shrimp and brine shrimp. Because of its reclusive nature, care should be taken to ensure it receives adequate food in a community tank.
