Description
The Golden Angelfish (Centropyge aurantia) is a rare and stunning marine species, known for its vibrant golden-orange body with subtle blue stripes. This fish is highly sought after by advanced aquarists due to its unique appearance and challenging care requirements, making it best suited for experienced hobbyists.
Native to deep reef environments, the Golden Angelfish requires a mature tank with ample rockwork to mimic its natural habitat, providing numerous hiding spots and shaded areas. It can be semi-aggressive, particularly with other dwarf angelfish, so it is recommended to keep it as the only angelfish in the tank.
As an omnivore, the Golden Angelfish thrives on a diet that includes marine algae, sponges, and high-quality meaty foods. While it may adapt to a reef environment, it could nip at corals or sessile invertebrates, so caution is advised if adding it to a reef aquarium.
