Description
The Immaculatus Puffer (Arothron immaculatus), known for its subdued brown and white coloration and bright yellow eyes, is a unique pufferfish that brings character to any marine aquarium. It has a semi-aggressive temperament and is best kept with other similarly robust tank mates, as it may nip at smaller or delicate fish.
This species is not reef-safe, as it is prone to nipping at corals and invertebrates. The Immaculatus Puffer thrives on a carnivorous diet that includes clams, shrimp, and other meaty foods, which helps keep its beak-like teeth in check. A minimum tank size of 50 gallons is recommended to provide it with ample swimming space. This pufferfish’s distinctive appearance and curious personality make it a popular choice among aquarists.
