The Linear Blenny (Ecsenius lineatus) is a stunning and lively addition to marine aquariums, recognized for its elongated body and captivating color patterns. This species typically features a light brown base adorned with dark stripes, making it visually appealing and a great contrast against the vibrant colors of corals in a reef setup.

Reaching a maximum size of about 4 inches, the Linear Blenny is best suited for aquariums of at least 30 gallons, providing ample space for swimming and exploring. These fish are known for their peaceful temperament, often coexisting well with a variety of tank mates, including other peaceful fish. They thrive in environments with plenty of hiding spots, such as rock formations or live rock, where they can feel secure.

As omnivores, Linear Blennies require a balanced diet consisting of high-quality flakes, pellets, and frozen foods, such as brine shrimp and mysis shrimp, to maintain their health and vibrant coloration.

In terms of water conditions, they prefer a specific gravity between 1.020 and 1.025, temperatures from 74 to 78°F, and a pH level of 8.1 to 8.4. Regular monitoring of these parameters is crucial for their overall well-being.
