Description
The Passer Angel, also known as the King Angelfish, is a stunning species that displays a striking combination of colors. Its vibrant blue body is accentuated by a bold white stripe running vertically across its middle, with a bright yellow tail adding contrast. The Passer Angel is a robust and bold fish, making it a favorite among advanced hobbyists looking for a standout species in their aquarium.
Native to the Eastern Pacific, this angelfish thrives in well-established tanks with ample live rock for grazing. While it can be housed in a reef tank with caution, it is known to nip at corals and invertebrates. Providing a varied diet of marine algae, spirulina, and meaty foods such as mysis shrimp ensures its health and vivid colors.
Growing up to 14 inches in length, the Passer Angel requires a spacious tank of at least 180 gallons. Due to its aggressive temperament, it is best housed with similarly sized, semi-aggressive or aggressive tank mates. Proper care and space will allow this majestic fish to thrive as a centerpiece in large saltwater aquariums.
