Description
The Powder Brown Tang is a stunning saltwater species recognized for its smooth gradients of brown to yellow hues, accented by a white face patch and brilliant blue edging on its fins. This species is highly active and requires plenty of space to swim. With its semi-aggressive nature, it may display territorial behavior, especially toward other tangs.
In addition to its beauty, the Powder Brown Tang is known for its algae-grazing behavior, making it a useful fish for maintaining clean live rock in reef aquariums. The species thrives on a herbivorous diet, with marine-based seaweed and algae forming the bulk of its nutrition.
This tang is generally reef-safe, but like other tangs, it requires high water quality and stable tank conditions to stay healthy. It is sensitive to fluctuations in water parameters, so keeping a stable environment with regular maintenance is key.
