Description
The Purple Tang is a striking fish known for its rich purple coloration contrasted with bright yellow fins. Native to the reefs of the Red Sea, this tang can be a lively and beautiful addition to a large reef or fish-only aquarium. Purple Tangs are semi-aggressive, especially with other tangs or similarly shaped fish, so careful consideration is needed when selecting tank mates. As an herbivore, it primarily feeds on algae, making it helpful in keeping algae growth under control in aquariums. A tank with ample swimming space, live rock for grazing, and stable water conditions is ideal for the Purple Tang.
