Description
The Randall Anthias (Male) (Pseudanthias randalli) is a stunning fish with vibrant orange and pink hues that blend into yellow accents along its body. Its light green dorsal fin and white-edged caudal fin add to its striking appearance, making it a favorite among reef aquarists. The Randall Anthias is peaceful and well-suited to reef aquariums, coexisting with corals and invertebrates without issue.
Native to the reefs of the Indo-Pacific, this species prefers to be housed in a large tank with plenty of swimming space and live rock for hiding. The Randall Anthias thrives in groups, mimicking its natural schooling behavior, which helps reduce stress in captivity. A tank of at least 125 gallons is recommended.
Being a carnivore, the Randall Anthias feeds on zooplankton in the wild and requires a varied diet of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other small, meaty foods in the aquarium. Multiple small feedings throughout the day will ensure optimal health and maintain its vibrant coloration.
