Description
The Red Sea Eritrean Butterflyfish is a striking species known for its distinctive vertical black lines and bold red patches on the tail. This butterflyfish is found in the reefs of the Red Sea and thrives in a well-established tank with plenty of hiding spots and live rock for grazing. Although generally peaceful, it may show territorial behaviors towards other butterflyfish. Its diet includes a mix of algae, invertebrates, and prepared foods designed for omnivorous fish. This species is moderately reef-compatible, but caution is advised as it may nip at corals and other sessile invertebrates.
