Description
The Rolland’s Damselfish, known for its distinctive yellow head, black saddle marking, and white body, is a hardy and attractive species well-suited for both beginner and experienced aquarists. Its unique coloration and active nature make it an eye-catching addition to marine aquariums. Although small, this damselfish displays a bold personality, typical of the Pomacentridae family.
Native to the reefs of the Indo-Pacific, Rolland’s Damselfish thrives in reef environments with ample hiding spots and swimming space. It can coexist well with other semi-aggressive tank mates, though it may exhibit territorial behavior, especially in smaller tanks. This species is reef-compatible, making it safe for setups with corals and invertebrates.
As an omnivore, Rolland’s Damselfish has a flexible diet and readily accepts a variety of foods. To maintain optimal health and coloration, it should be provided with a mix of marine flakes, pellets, and frozen foods such as mysis and brine shrimp.
