Description
The Royal Flasher Wrasse is a vibrant and captivating species known for its beautiful mix of red, yellow, purple, and blue colors, which shimmer as it moves through the water. This wrasse is an excellent choice for reef aquariums, bringing color and activity to the tank. Its peaceful nature makes it suitable for community tanks, and it often thrives when kept in groups, especially in a spacious aquarium with plenty of rockwork for hiding and exploration.
Originating from reef environments in the Indo-Pacific, the Royal Flasher Wrasse prefers a well-established aquarium with stable water conditions. It is reef-compatible and will not harm corals or invertebrates, making it a safe choice for mixed-species reef tanks. This species does best when kept with other peaceful tank mates, though care should be taken when introducing it to tanks with larger, aggressive fish.
As a carnivore, the Royal Flasher Wrasse thrives on a diet of small, meaty foods. Offer it a variety of frozen or live foods, such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood, to maintain its health and vibrant coloration. Multiple small feedings throughout the day are recommended to mimic its natural feeding habits.
