Description

The Sebae Anemone, scientifically known as Heteractis crispa, is a popular choice among marine aquarists due to its stunning appearance and adaptability. This anemone features a striking color palette, predominantly white with distinctive purple tips that add a vibrant contrast to any reef aquarium.

Known for its graceful tentacles, the Sebae Anemone can expand its body significantly, creating a beautiful display in the aquarium. These anemones are relatively hardy and can thrive in moderate lighting conditions, making them suitable for both beginner and experienced aquarists.

Sebae Anemones are carnivorous and require a diet of meaty foods, such as small fish, shrimp, and other marine proteins. They also benefit from the photosynthetic support provided by their symbiotic zooxanthellae, which live within their tissues.

While they are generally peaceful, Sebae Anemones can exhibit semi-aggressive behavior towards other tank inhabitants, especially if they feel crowded. It is advisable to provide adequate space between the anemone and other corals or anemones to prevent territorial conflicts.

With a maximum size of about 12 inches, these anemones can comfortably reside in tanks of at least 30 gallons. When properly cared for, the Sebae Anemone (Purple Tip) becomes a striking centerpiece in a marine aquarium, adding both beauty and movement to the underwater environment.
