Description
The Gold Head Sleeper Goby (Valenciennea strigata), also known as the Yellow-headed Sleeper Goby, is a stunning addition to a marine aquarium. Its vibrant yellow head contrasts beautifully with its elongated white body, making it a visually striking fish. This goby is often observed sifting through sand, filtering out small invertebrates and detritus to feed on.
This species requires a well-established tank with a sandy substrate, where it can sift through sand to maintain its feeding habits. The Gold Head Sleeper Goby is peaceful and does well in community tanks, though it prefers peaceful tankmates. In addition to its natural sifting behavior, its diet should be supplemented with mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other meaty foods.
