Description
The Tomato Clownfish (Amphiprion frenatus), also known as the Bridled Clownfish, is a hardy and vibrantly colored fish, popular for both beginner and experienced marine aquarists. With its fiery red-orange body and a distinctive white stripe across its head, this species adds a stunning burst of color to any marine tank.
Tomato Clownfish are semi-aggressive and known to become territorial, especially around their host anemones or preferred rock formations. They are compatible with many reef setups but may display aggression toward other clownfish or similar-sized species. They can thrive independently or be paired with an anemone, although they are adaptable and can live without one.
In terms of diet, the Tomato Clownfish is an omnivore that will readily accept various foods, including meaty offerings, algae-based pellets, and flakes. Providing a well-balanced diet supports their immune system and vibrant coloration. This resilient and personable clownfish will be a lively and enduring presence in a suitably sized community or reef aquarium.
