Description
The Trochus Top Snail (Pyramid), scientifically known as Trochus pyramis, is a hardy and visually appealing addition to reef aquariums. This species is characterized by its distinctive conical shell, which typically exhibits beautiful patterns in shades of green and brown.
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, the Trochus Top Snail is an excellent algae eater, helping to maintain a clean and healthy aquarium environment. They thrive in well-established systems with plenty of hiding spots and can coexist peacefully with various tankmates, making them ideal for community tanks.
These snails are easy to care for, adapting well to a variety of water conditions, although stability is essential for their health. Their diet should consist of algae and detritus, and they can also benefit from supplemental feeding with algae wafers or blanched vegetables.
