Description
The Truncate Anthias (Pseudanthias truncatus) is a beautiful addition to any marine aquarium, with its soft pink and yellow coloration and a light purple-tinged dorsal fin. This peaceful and elegant species thrives in reef environments, adding a burst of color and activity to the tank.
Native to the Indo-Pacific, the Truncate Anthias is a carnivorous species that primarily feeds on zooplankton in the wild. In the aquarium, it should be offered a varied diet of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other finely chopped meaty foods to maintain its vibrant coloration and health. Multiple feedings throughout the day are recommended.
The Truncate Anthias is reef compatible and poses no threat to corals or invertebrates. They are best kept in groups, mimicking their natural schooling behavior in the wild. With a peaceful temperament, they can coexist well with other non-aggressive fish species. A tank of at least 125 gallons is recommended for long-term care, providing ample space for swimming and socializing.
