Description
The Yellowtail Damsel is a hardy and strikingly beautiful fish, featuring a vivid electric blue body contrasted with a bright yellow tail. Its small size and easy-care nature make it a popular choice among beginner and experienced marine aquarists alike.
While generally peaceful, the Yellowtail Damsel can display semi-aggressive behavior, especially when defending its territory. Therefore, it is important to provide plenty of hiding spaces and rockwork to minimize territorial disputes in a community tank. Despite this, it is considered one of the less aggressive damsels and can coexist with a variety of other tankmates, making it a good fit for community and reef tanks.
The Yellowtail Damsel is reef-safe and will not harm corals or invertebrates. It has a varied diet and thrives on a mix of omnivorous foods, including flake foods, frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and algae-based foods.
Due to its hardy nature, stunning appearance, and low-maintenance needs, the Yellowtail Damsel is a great addition to most marine aquariums. It brings a splash of color and vibrancy while being adaptable to different aquarium setups.
