Description
The Aiptasia Eating/Green Filefish is a unique and peaceful species known for its efficiency in controlling Aiptasia populations, making it a valuable addition to reef tanks dealing with these problematic anemones. This fish features a green to brownish color, providing excellent camouflage among corals and rocks.
While this filefish is reef-safe with caution, it has been known to nip at soft corals or polyps when not provided with adequate food. Therefore, it’s essential to monitor its behavior in a reef aquarium. Its diet should consist of a variety of meaty foods, such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood to keep it satisfied.
