Description
The Green Mandarin Dragonet (Synchiropus splendidus) is one of the most beautifully colored fish in the aquarium trade. Its dazzling combination of blue, green, orange, and yellow makes it a true showpiece in a marine tank. Despite its stunning appearance, it has demanding dietary requirements, relying almost exclusively on live copepods and other small microfauna.
It is a peaceful species, suitable for reef tanks, but is best housed in well-established aquariums with plenty of live rock to support its natural diet. The Green Mandarin Dragonet’s peaceful nature makes it compatible with a wide range of other marine fish, though its care level is considered difficult due to its specialized feeding habits. To keep this fish healthy, owners may need to culture live foods such as copepods.
