Description
The Koran Angel, also known as the Semi-circular Angelfish, is a visually striking species with its blue-gray body adorned with small, dotted blue spots and light golden accents around its face. Its fins and edges are highlighted with bright blue, adding to its captivating appearance. As the fish matures, its colors and patterns become even more pronounced.
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, the Koran Angel thrives in well-established aquariums with plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding. While it can be kept in reef tanks with caution, it may nip at soft corals and invertebrates, so close monitoring is required. Feeding it a varied diet of marine algae, spirulina, and meaty foods ensures its vibrant coloration and overall health.
This large angelfish can grow up to 15 inches in length and requires a spacious tank of at least 180 gallons. Due to its semi-aggressive temperament, it is best housed with tank mates of similar size and behavior to prevent territorial disputes. With proper care, the Koran Angel can become a stunning focal point in a large saltwater aquarium.
