Description
The Singapore Angel, also known as the Blacktail Angelfish, features a stunning color gradient that transitions from black on the upper half of its body to white on the lower half, with intricate scale patterns. Its striking appearance is completed by a bold black vertical stripe running through its eye and a vibrant yellow tail. This angelfish adds elegance to any large aquarium with its unique and bold color contrast.
Native to the coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific, the Singapore Angel prefers an aquarium with plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding. While it can be kept in a reef tank with caution, the Singapore Angel may nip at soft corals and clams. It thrives on a varied diet of marine algae, spirulina, and meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, ensuring its health and vivid coloration.
The Singapore Angel grows up to 7 inches in length and requires a minimum tank size of 100 gallons. Its semi-aggressive nature means it should be housed with tank mates of a similar size and temperament to prevent territorial disputes.
