Description
The Segmented Blenny (Ecsenius spp.) is a small, colorful fish known for its unique segmented appearance and active personality. Typically found in shallow reefs of the Indo-Pacific, these blennies prefer to inhabit crevices and rocky substrates, where they can easily dart in and out for safety.
These fish are generally peaceful and do well in community tanks, making them suitable for reef aquariums. They exhibit interesting behaviors, such as “perching” on rocks or corals, and are known for their playful interactions with tankmates. As omnivores, Segmented Blennies thrive on a varied diet that includes algae, pellets, and small meaty foods. Providing plenty of hiding spaces and stable water conditions will enhance their health and well-being, while also allowing them to display their natural behaviors.
