Description
The Azure (Kupang) Damsel is a brilliantly colored fish, known for its bright electric blue body and vibrant yellow underside. Its vivid appearance and hardy nature make it a favorite for beginner and advanced aquarists alike.
This species is semi-aggressive, especially as it matures, but it can coexist peacefully in a well-managed reef tank with plenty of hiding spots. It is an excellent addition to reef aquariums as it is reef safe and will not harm corals.
Being an omnivore, the Azure Damsel thrives on a varied diet that includes both algae-based foods and meaty preparations. This diet helps to maintain its health and brilliant colors.
Although small in size, this damsel can hold its own against larger, more aggressive tank mates, but care should be taken when housing it with other more passive species. It is best kept in tanks of 30 gallons or larger where it has enough space to establish its territory.
