Description
The Big Eye Shrimp is a small, vibrant shrimp characterized by its striking red body covered with white spots and its large, expressive eyes. This species is an excellent addition to peaceful community and reef aquariums, as it is reef-safe and does not harm corals or other delicate invertebrates.
Known for its scavenging behavior, the Big Eye Shrimp helps keep the tank clean by consuming detritus, algae, and any leftover food, contributing to a balanced aquarium ecosystem. It is hardy and relatively easy to care for, making it suitable for both beginner and experienced aquarists.
With a peaceful temperament, the Big Eye Shrimp gets along well with most other small, non-aggressive marine species. It is best kept in a tank with plenty of hiding spots, such as live rock crevices and caves, where it can retreat when needed. This shrimp species is an active forager, often visible at night or in low light conditions, making it a unique and enjoyable species to observe.
