Description
The Geometric/Hi-Fin Perchlet Hawk (Plectranthias inermis) is a small, peaceful marine fish prized for its distinctive red and white geometric patterning and elegant high dorsal fin. Its striking appearance and compact size make it a great choice for nano and reef aquariums, adding visual interest without overwhelming smaller setups.
This species is native to the Indo-Pacific region and prefers an environment with plenty of rockwork for hiding, as it is shy and tends to stay near cover. The Geometric Perchlet Hawk is a carnivore and should be fed a diet rich in meaty foods, such as mysis shrimp and brine shrimp, to support its health and coloration.
Though peaceful by nature, it is best housed with other non-aggressive tank mates. Its small size and reef-safe behavior make it an excellent addition to mixed tanks, where it generally leaves corals and invertebrates undisturbed.
