The Orange Banded Wrasse is a visually striking marine fish known for its vibrant coloration and lively behavior. This species displays a greenish body adorned with bright orange bands running along its length, creating a beautiful contrast that captivates aquarists.

As a carnivore, the Orange Banded Wrasse requires a protein-rich diet to thrive. It enjoys a variety of foods, including high-quality flakes, pellets, and frozen options such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Providing a balanced diet is essential for its health and maintaining its brilliant colors.

With a semi-aggressive temperament, the Orange Banded Wrasse can display territorial behavior, especially in smaller tanks or when kept with similar species. Therefore, it’s advisable to house it in a larger aquarium (minimum 50 gallons) where it has plenty of space to establish its territory and engage in natural behaviors.

This wrasse is also known for its role in controlling pest populations, making it beneficial for reef tanks. It is reef-compatible and can coexist with various reef-safe species, provided that it has enough space to roam and a well-structured environment with hiding spots.
