Description
The White Ribbon Eel is a striking species recognized by its long, slender body and distinct white coloration, which is typical of juveniles and females. As the eel matures, males typically turn blue, but the white phase remains a beautiful, ethereal sight in aquariums. This eel is peaceful but requires specific care, such as well-maintained water quality and a diet of live or frozen meaty foods like shrimp or fish.
Ribbon Eels are known for their reclusive nature and often prefer hiding in crevices or caves. Despite their size, they are delicate and can be challenging to keep, requiring an experienced aquarist. They are reef-safe but should be housed in a tank with secure lids to prevent escape.
